If you need another upmarket shopping option, simply take a four-minute walk from Gurney Plaza to Gurney Paragon Mall which is part of a mixed-used development that includes a serviced residence and an office tower. If you are staying at PARKROYAL Penang Resort, you can make several trips to this night market, as it is located right in front of the resort. Popular among tourists, the street market is great for getting yourself in the lively atmosphere, but be prepared to haggle hard with the vendors. The hundreds of stalls offer everything from home decorations and souvenirs to designer-inspired bags. Take your time to peruse the whole stretch of stalls before making a purchase to find the best bargain!

If you are looking for some old collectibles or unique craft items, head over the Lorong Kulit Flea Market. More like a curio market, this eclectic destination is Penang’s only flea market that sells second-hand goods of anything and everything. From old vinyl records, electrical items, used musical instruments to old toys, the prices here are usually very affordable. Be sure to get there early, as the vendors usually start closing up from noon.
