Sustainability at Pan Pacific Perth

At Pan Pacific Perth, we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment through sustainable practices. Our initiatives focus on energy efficiency, waste reduction, and supporting local communities, all while enhancing the guest experience.

Recycled Materials in Our Design

Our newly refurbished lobby features sustainable, recycled materials:

  • Recycled Jeans Panels: Made from repurposed denim textiles, these panels reduce landfill waste and showcase the iconic blue hues of denim.

  • Recycled Plastic Panels: Crafted from 100% recycled plastic, these panels reflect coral reef patterns and help reduce plastic waste in the environment.

  • Herb Panels: These natural surfaces are made from hand-harvested herbs such as lavender and lemon verbena, providing a sensory experience for our guests.

Water Efficiency & Energy-Saving Practices

  • Waterwise Gold Award: Recognised in 2023 for our leadership in water efficiency.

  • Energy-Efficient Lighting: The hotel uses LED lights, the most eco-friendly bulbs available.

  • Energy-Saving Air Conditioning: Our newly refurbished rooms are equipped with advanced air conditioning controls to minimise energy consumption.

Waste Reduction & Plastic-Free Commitment

  • Dual Waste Bins in Rooms: Guests are provided with options to separate waste and recycling to help reduce landfill.

  • Containers for Change: Staff are encouraged to recycle bottles and cans through dedicated recycling bins in the back of house.

  • Plastic-Free Future: By early 2025, we will replace all single-use plastic water bottles in our conference and events spaces with glass alternatives. Additionally, by 2025 we will introduce aluminium water bottles and install a refillable water station in the lobby.

Local & Sustainable Dining

  • Buy West Eat Best Accreditation: Over 70% of the ingredients used in our main and entrée dishes are sourced from Western Australia, supporting local farmers, fishers, and producers.

  • UMA Restaurant: Our award-winning restaurant is accredited as a sustainable tourism business, with a focus on locally sourced and sustainable ingredients.

Honouring Indigenous Culture

We proudly display Indigenous artworks from North East Arnhem Land, Elcho Island, celebrating the rich cultural traditions, stories, and deep connection to the land of the Yolngu people.

Future Sustainability Plans

  • Water Filter Systems in Rooms (2025/2026): We will install water filters in guest rooms, eliminating the need for bottled water.

  • Aluminium Water Bottles and Water Refill Stations: Launching in 2025, further reducing single-use plastic consumption.
