Hosting up to 300,000 visitors daily, the heart of the 10-storey complex is undoubtedly the HSBC Rain Vortex, which is located at the centre of the luxuriant Forest Valley. After dusk falls, the world of night-loving creatures comes alive at the Night Safari—the world’s first safari park dedicated to nocturnal and crepuscular animals.
Over 2,500 resident beasts from more than 130 species are housed in this 35-hectare rainforest park. They include some that are indigenous to the South East Asian region, like the endangered Asian elephant, Malayan tapir and Malayan tiger.
There are some must-do walking trails at the Night Safari, and the Leopard Trail is one of them. Along the way, you will be able to catch glimpses of small-toothed civets, tarsiers, porcupines and giant flying squirrels.
Do plan your visit to include the Creatures of the Night Show, which features otters, civets and other animals displaying their amazing natural talents. The 25-minute show is available at three timings daily, at 7:15pm, 8:30pm and 9:30pm—go early to avoid disappointment. An additional show at 10:30pm is also available on Fridays, Saturdays and eve of public holidays.
