Admire Langkawi from Above

Start your Langkawi getaway on a high note at the Langkawi Sky Bridge, one of the island’s most popular spots. Suspended 700 metres above the sea between Mount Mat Cincang and its neighbouring mountain, this 125-metre meandering pedestrian bridge offers a breathtaking view of glorious Langkawi, including the stunning Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls. It may get a bit chilly with strong winds at the bridge, so bring along a jacket—and remember to hold tightly onto your hats or umbrellas!

There is only one way to access the bridge—via the Langkawi Cable Car. This 15-minute scenic ride takes off from the Oriental Village, making its way over the lush tropical rainforests to the peak of Mount Mat Cincang. At the summit’s observation deck (708 metres above ground), you can see the island of Sumatra in neighbouring Indonesia if you look in the right direction.

Cool off at the Majestic Waterfalls

If you can’t get enough of the majestic Telaga Tujuh Waterfalls from the top of the Langkawi Sky Bridge, consider trekking to it to get a more intimate look. Also known as the Seven Wells Waterfall, this awe-inspiring water feature is connected to a network of seven natural pools fed by seven waterfalls, with the tallest tumbling some 900 metres down from Mount Cinang Mountain.
Visitors can enjoy a dip into the calm, cool, and clear waters in the pools. If you are adventurous and energetic enough, you can challenge yourself with a 45-minute climb to the top of the waterfalls and be rewarded with picturesque views of the forests.

Visit an Iconic Langkawi Landmark

No visit to Langkawi is complete without a trip to its most iconic spot—Eagle Square. Its highlight is the stately 12-metre-tall Eagle statue facing the seafront, carved to look as though it is ready to take flight. The eagle is Langkawi’s emblem; according to folklore, Langkawi’s name came from the Malay words of Helang (Eagle) and Kawi (reddish-brown).
Miniature fountains and pretty terraces add to the allure of Eagle Square. After exploring the sights and snapping all the holiday photos you can muster, pop into one of the area’s many cafes to rest your feet. There are also duty-free shops if you feel like you’re up for some shopping.

Dive into a Pristine Underwater Habitat

Next, make your way to the nearby Pulau Payar Marine Park, which comprises four uninhabited islands that make up Malaysia’s oldest marine park sanctuary. A prominent spot for diving and snorkelling, you can get up close and personal to some of Langkawi’s prettiest underwater habitats. Its Coral Gardens is a standout, featuring a kaleidoscope of colourful corals inhabited by brightly hued tropical marine fishes. To visit, you can opt for the snorkelling or scuba diving package.

Explore the Mystical Mahsuri Tomb and Museum
Most of Langkawi’s attractions are attached to myths and fables, but none can be more fascinating than the tale of Princess Mahsuri—a stunning royal beauty sentenced to death due to jealousy. Learn this slice of Langkawi’s mythical past at the Mahsuri Tomb and Museum.
Legend has it that upon Mahsuri’s death, she cursed the island with seven generations of bad luck. It was said, however, that Langkawi survived the curse and the locals turned Mahsuri’s tomb into a historical site, including her shrine and her former home. Visitors today can visit where she lived, uncover details of her story, and admire artefacts such as her jewellery and the alleged weapon that killed her.

Hike Up the Towering Gunung Raya

Just 20 minutes away from Mahsuri’s Tomb is the soaring Gunung Raya—the highest peak in Langkawi. Take a hike up to the top, either on your own or with a hired guide. The trail may be steep in some parts, but along the way, you will be rewarded with sights of a verdant rainforest teeming with wildlife such as flying foxes, hornbills, monkeys and eagles.
At the hill’s summit of 881 metres, a lookout provides you with an incredible view of Langkawi’s natural beauty, stretching to where the ocean meets the sky.
Enjoy a Healing Soak in the Air Hangat Village

Fancy a relaxing soak in a hot spring? Make your way to the therapeutic Air (pronounced A-yer) Hangat Village. Translated as “Hot Water” in Malay, the village brims with natural salt water springs believed to have healing properties.
A warm and relaxing soak in Air Hangat’s hot springs may be the best way to unwind after a hard day of mountain climbing, forest trekking, swimming, and snorkelling. From large communal pools, private open-air jacuzzis, to traditional spa treatments, Air Hangat Village is the perfect relaxing last stop for your maiden Langkawi trip.
