Ziptrek Ecotours

Fly through untouched ancient temperate rainforests, rivers, and canyons in Whistler by ziplining. Soaring at speeds of more than 100 km per hour, you can gain a magnificent bird’s-eye view of the lush canopy of trees and the rushing river that divides the Whistler and Blackcomb mountains.

A typical zipline experience takes around three hours. Ziptrek Ecotours offers tours that take you through a network of trails and tree-top platforms, immersing you in a tranquil forest environment. The company offers four tour options, each with different sights catering to different preferences and experiences. The Bear Tour is great for first-time zippers, and if you are up for the ultimate adrenaline rush, the Sasquatch Tour, featuring the longest zipline in Canada, is the one to pick. Spanning over 2km, you will get to experience spectacular views at a height of over 7,000 feet in the air.

Slide Like an Olympian At Whistler

Have you ever secretly wished to be an Olympian? Live out your Olympic dreams in Whistler by bobsleighing like a champion. Whistler was host to the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, and the Whistler Sliding Centre, located on the Whistler Blackcomb Mountain, offers bobsleigh (winter and summer) and solo skeleton rides (winter).

Get your heart and mind racing when you slide down the fastest tracks in the world. You can choose to coast down in a 2-person bobsled steered by a trained bobsleigh pilot, or go on a solo adventure, launching head-first on your own skeleton ride. The Bobsleigh takes you on a twisting journey through twists and turns with speeds of up to four g-forces, while the skeleton ride sends you through exhilarating corners that will set your heart pumping. Both options will set you hurtling through the slippery ice at breakneck speeds of up to 100 km per hour.

Need something less gut-wrenching for your kids? Those between the ages of eight and 14 can opt a one-session sports programme that gives a taste of the winter sport of luging. After the session, your kid or teen can enjoy sliding down the track on their own sled.

Enjoy Big Splashes and Even Bigger Views

Water Rafting Activity Water Rafting Activity

Whitewater rafting is not for the faint of heart. However, shooting the rapids is a must-do Whistler Mountain activity for thrill-seekers of any age.

Your rafting adventure here lets you charge down an exhilarating 16 kilometres of white water rapids on the Elaho River. Experience the thrill of being splashed by giant Class 4 rapids, and be rewarded with magnificent views of Mount Cayley Volcano and its serene surroundings. A skilled guide is on hand to guide your raft throughout the ride, so rest assured that you are in good hands, even if you have never been on a raft before.

Keen to explore the Canadian Wilderness after your rigorous river adventure? Change out of your rafting gear at the rafting resort, grab a bite to eat, and hang out by the fire as you and your fellow adventurers relive your experience with photographs taken by the photographer on the river. You can take home these memories for a small fee.

Bungee Jump Over a Charging River

As they say, go big or go home. Take the leap of faith into the unknown, or in this case, over the Cheakamus River with Whistler Bungee.

Often voted by locals as the most extreme activity in Whistler, this is the one thing adrenaline enthusiasts have to do in Whistler. The bonus here is that bungee jumping in Whistler offers one of the most scenic views in the world.

You can choose to jump on your own or on a tandem. Perched 50 metres (160 ft) in the air, about one-sixth the height of the Eiffel Tower, you are positioned in the middle of a bridge surrounded by basalt column cliffs and old forests, with the imposing Black Tusk as the backdrop. Just remember to put your heart back in its place after your seemingly death-defying leap!

Bungee jumping is open all year round in all weather conditions.

This two-in-one activity is a treat for winter thrill-seekers, bringing you on a helicopter journey to admire the wild, unbridled beauty of Whistler. Suitable even for amateur skiers, heli-skiing gives you the flexibility of tearing down the powdery slopes and carving your own path on the majestic Whistler mountain, with 173 glaciers and 475 runs to choose from.

An expert pilot and an experienced guide are on hand to help pick your runs on the untouched mountain slopes. Depending on your skiing proficiency, you can choose from different Heli day trip packages offering three to six runs each. Note that Heli-ski is only available during the winter seasons.

Combining speed and adventure, the two-hour Wilderness Tour takes you on an explorative journey through Whistler’s backcountry. Feel the cold air on your face and marvel at the snowscape as you are guided along a series of winding trails through the forests.

Once you are past the twists and turns of the forest trails, charge up the white powdery mountain and feel the exhilaration of the ride while soaking in the visual feast surrounding you.

If you are a first-time rider, you can also opt for the Scenic Tour, which goes at a slower pace. Your guide will take you on groomed trails where you can soak in the sights, and stop for a hot drink and snack afterwards.
