PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport | Sustainability

Our Commitment to Sustainability

PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport is committed to leading sustainable hospitality, reflecting our guests' growing preference for responsible and eco-conscious experiences. Through a series of thoughtful, environmentally friendly initiatives, we strive to enhance each guest’s stay while positively contributing to our community and environment.

Our sustainability commitment extends across all areas of hotel operations, with a focus on adopting innovative practices and evolving our approach to reduce our environmental footprint. As we continue this journey, PARKROYAL Melbourne Airport remains dedicated to inspiring positive change by engaging our associates, guests, and business partners in fostering a more sustainable future together.

Our Environment

Guests are invited to join our towel and linen reuse program, which helps conserve water and minimize detergent use. In each guestroom, we’ve installed water-saving showerheads to further reduce water use without compromising on comfort.

Energy efficiency is also at the core of our operations. The entire hotel, from guest rooms to service areas, is fitted with LED lighting, significantly reducing energy consumption compared to traditional lighting. Many of our office and meeting spaces feature automated light sensors that switch off when not in use, ensuring that we use energy only when needed.

We are replacing plastic coffee cups and containers with 100% biodegradable bamboo alternatives. Nearly all of our fresh produce arrives in eco-friendly cardboard, and plastic straws have been swapped for biodegradable ones.

Our People & Community

We prioritise sourcing local Australian products from suppliers that employ sustainable practices whenever possible. To view the list of sustainable suppliers we work with, please click here.

To support Scouts Victoria’s youth programs, we introduced CDS donation bins across our hotel for recycling eligible containers. Each container helps fund youth activities while enhancing our recycling efforts.

Led by our housekeeping team, the Soap Aid programme collects and repurposes used soap from guest rooms. These soaps are sanitised and crafted into new bars, which are then donated to communities in developing countries, helping to improve hygiene and reduce environmental waste.
