In line with the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham) Corporate Community Day 2007 on 3 November, Pan Pacific Singapore organised a gingerbread man decoration workshop and luncheon for the children from Assisi Hospice.
15 children from as young as three years of age and 10 volunteers were at the event. Pastry Chef Winnie Goh of Pan Pacific Singapore and hotel associates guided the children through a hands-on decoration session, followed by lunch. The hotel's adopted charity since 2004, Assisi Hospice provides in-patient hospice, home care and day care facilities for adults & children with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. In 2006, Assisi Hospice served 866 adult patients and 50 children in these services.
Pan Pacific Singapore’s General Manager Scott Swank commented, “2007 marks the fourth year of the hotel’s involvement with Assisi Hospice. We are honoured to have facilitated fund-raising efforts that achieved close to SGD$2 million throughout the course of our relationship with Assisi Hospice; this is gratification in light of the hotel’s philosophy of community commitment.”
Pan Pacific Singapore will continue to bake and sell Gingerbread Men with Hearts as part of the Christmas Goodies Takeaway Menu at Atrium Deli (Level 1) from 1 to 25 December. Each figurine is priced at $6 of which $1 will be donated to Assisi Hospice.
